First, thanks to Jim for cooking the turkey. It left me time (and oven space) to make all the fixings. The table doesn't look too bad if I do say so myself.
Due to a delay in Alison's flight, we sat down to eat just as Catherine was waking from her nap. She was having NONE of it. As far as she was concerned, Alison was there for one reason and one reason only--to play with her. Catherine wimpered behind Alison's chair and had a temper tantrum in the floor by the table. It didn't help that the dining room is essentially in the middle of her play area. Ultimately, she perked up a bit and sat in Alison's lap while we finished our meal.
Good health, good food, good conversation, and good fun--what a perfect recipe for Thanksgiving! (That, and the pumpkin cheesecake recipe from my friend Elizabeth that was awesome! Thanks, Elizabeth!)
