The Purple Room

After two full months of anticipation, Catherine moved into her NEW, BIG, PINK and PURPLE ROOM tonight.  The room includes purple walls (which she helped pick out), pink curtains, lots of flowers and butterflies, and a purple polka-dot bean bag chair!  Oh, and did I mention the FULL-SIZED BIG GIRL BED!  What a momentous occasion!

Party with a Princess

Sarah Katherine, Catherine's best school friend, turned three today, and she celebrated with a Princess Party.  All the the little girls dressed in their princess best to go and have tea.   At the party, they were surprised with a REAL princess...Cinderella who told stories, sang songs, and helped serve their food.  Mommy was called into work, so Daddy was the lucky one to experience the delightful day with Catherine--a true Prince Charming!  What a great day!

Three-year-old Check-up

We went to see Dr. Mary today.  My big girl is 36 lbs (90th%) and 38 3/4 in (95th%).  She continues to be long and rather lean.  Catherine answered all of Dr. Mary's questions about her name, her age, and her soon-to-arrive little brother and then got the Dr. Mary Gold Star for Doing Great.

The Pinkalicious Birthday Party

Last year, we had a purple party, so it only stands to reason that this year Catherine requested a pink party, but not just any pink party, A PINKALICIOUS Pink Party.  For those who don't know, Pinkalicious is a fictional character who loves pink so much that one day she eats too many pink cupcakes and develops a case of Acute Pinkatitis which causes her to actually turn pink.  The remedy, in case you were curious, is lots of green vegetables!

So, today we celebrated our BIG THREE-YEAR-OLD with lots of PINK! The whole family came to join our celebration, and Catherine was as pleased as I've ever seen her!

The Pre-birthday-party Party

Catherine is having a week of birthday celebrations.  First, she and Gigi made special brownies to celebrate yesterday with all of her Kindermusik friends.

Today, Catherine had her school birthday party.  Her sweet teachers, Mrs. Tait and Mrs. Amy, allowed us to crash the last 30 minutes of class for our celebration.  We had just picked up Aunt Alison from the airport, so her arrival was an extra sweet surprise.  The kids munched on pink cupcakes and drank pink lemonade before joining a fun dance party.  Catherine was delighted!
