First Movie

With Winnie The Pooh out in theaters, we jumped at the opportunity to take Catherine to her first movie. If only the previews hadn't lasted 45 minutes, then I think she would have easily made it through the 1 hr 5 minute movie. As it was, she did well for the first half of the movie. She sat in her own seat the majority of the time, along with her baby that goes with us everywhere these days. She also ate more popcorn and drank more lemonade than I did! She definitely had a good time. The pizza and ice cream afterwards didn't hurt the experience. My, she's growing up!

Happy Fourth!

Happy Fourth of July to everyone! We had a nice, low-key, relaxing day. It was overcast and drizzling most of the day, which put a slight damper on our swimming/picnicing/grilling/fireworking plans. It held off just enough in the evening that we did get to enjoy a little driveway display of pyrotechnics.

Catherine was skeptical at first, choosing to watch the craziness from this vantage point. Even the Purple Haze fountains seemed a little too loud for her.
She soon was intrigued, however, and ventured outside and proclaimed, "Mommy, Daddy, I'm not scared anymore." I'm so glad.
After some silly moves by mommy...
She took a real liking to the sparklers, and kept asking for more.
The love for fireworks must be hereditary!
